Jason Dottley is best known as the ex-husband of playwright Del Shores. He was one of the stars of Shores’ TV show Sordid Lives. Now, he has teamed with Dee Martello (aka DJ Twisted Dee) to re-imagine Madonna’s iconic ballad Crazy For You. Jason was four-years old when the song first premiered. “The lyrics speak to my own obsessive nature when I like someone,” he reveals. In the video, he takes the whole “crazy” part to extremes, in which he stalks a hot boy then stabs him to death and spoons the bloodied corpse. Just what Madonna had in mind.
“I have done some crazy things in the name of love,” admits Dottley from his home in New York. “Getting married was by far the craziest.” Dottley was married to Shores from 2003 to 2011.
Teaming with director Wes Rolan, the video is shot in black and white and co-stars adorable Drew Shaw, a former medical student turned actor and model. This summer, Dottley will kick off his first one-man show called And Then He Called Me Sir about his life on the Gay-list, being divorced, and being over 30 with a penchant for 21 year olds.
