Jason Walker grew up in Pittsburgh, singing in church choirs and then in local R&B and blues bands. He first entered the national spotlight with a winning performance on TV’s It’s Show Time at the Apollo.
He recorded two albums, This Is My Life and Flexible, garnering three Top 10 Billboard hits ("My Life," "No More," and "Movin’ On"), and two Billboard #1s ("Foolish Mind Games"and "Set It Free").
Now he has collaborated with music producer Tony Moran on the song "So Happy." “I’m extremely proud of Jason’s performance on "So Happy,"” says Moran. “It is destined to become a crossover pop hit.”
Tony Moran should know. In addition to an impressive list of #1 dance singles including Kristine W’s "Walk Away" and Martha Wash’s "Keep Your Body Working" and "Free People," Moran has remixed tribal house anthems for some of pop’s biggest artists including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna.
The video for "So Happy" is gorgeous. It was shot on the Salt Flats of Utah, a stunning geographical location that brings to mind the epic western visas of John Ford. A drone sweeps through the air, chasing wildlife and whizzing past a warbling Walker. “It turned out to be one of the most exhilarating, life-changing experiences ever,” gushes Walker. “Five days in the desert was insanely riveting.” I could have used a few more close-ups of Walker’s cute face, but why complain? Both the song and the video have something to offer. Check it out here:
