Circus So Gay, The Village's pre-Pride celebration
Come and join the gayest circus in town! Circus So Gay, The Village's pre-Pride celebration launches on June 25th and continues its out-rageousness over the whole weekend. Experience roaming circus performances, fantastic DJs, and epic drag queens (of course!)
Come for brunch, stay for dinner, watch the fun from one of the very many extended patios!
Circus So Gay Schedule:
Saturday, June 25th and Sunday, 26th
11am - 11pm
Church Street from Gloucester Street to Wood Street
The whole weekend will be filled with fabulous activities for everyone. Start your day off with a circus-themed brunch on an extended licenced patio on Saturday and stick around for the evening to party and watch as Nuit Rose takes shape on Church Street.
11am-1pm Saturday & Sunday:
Bring your kids to our family-friendly portion of the event on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 1pm. There will be face painting, clowns, magicians, street performers and more!
Sagrario Pilates will be guiding you through a yoga stretch pilates class in the centre of Church Street (when do you ever get to do that?) This one hour class takes place at the stage at Church and Maitland Street.
2pm-8pm Saturday and Sunday:
OutSport #FLEXZONE will be providing a range of fun-filled activities all weekend including a Dunk Tank, street rugby, volleyball, Kangaroo Zumba, and tennis. The FlexZone is located on Church Street between Wood and Alexander Street.
Lucky Elephant PINK Candy Popcorn will be available for purchase; all proceeds go to Outsport.
PWA Activates Church Street: You won’t want to miss the 1st Annual High Heel Strut on Sunday!
Up to 25 contestants dressed in drag will compete by strutting to the finish line in their heels. Enjoy the spectacle or sign up early to participate!http://www.pwatoronto.org/ high-heel/
Saturday Sunset - 11pm:
Events from Nuit Rose will be happening in conjunction with Circus So Gay.
The Village will be a prime spot to watch the Light Parade as it makes it’s way south down Church Street to Maitland. https://www.facebook.com/ events/297082697289417/
Saturday & Sunday 2pm-11pm:
Come visit the main stage at the corner of Maitland and Church (in front of Super Fresh Mart) and see the amazing performances being presented such as contortionists, acrobats, DJ’s and drag performances.
Latino Group Hola will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a special Circus So Gay performance at the main stage at Church and Maitland. Over 30 individuals, dance groups, and musicians will perform in this not-to-be-missed variety show!
MAGT: Bureau of Power and Light Showcase will be performing with DJ Fat Benjamin (UK) providing upbeat, danceable, ELECTROBEATS. DJ Bruce LaBruce will hit the stage afterwards and play an eclectic mix of dance music
