
Pork is the other white meat and can be as tasty as you make it. Dress it up with apples and pears for a unique sweet and savoury taste, packed with nutrition that will impress your guest(s).

Recipe: PORK CHOPS WITH SPICED APPLES & PEARS
Serves 6
2 tsp butter
6 pork chops
½ tsp dried basil or 1 tsp chopped fresh
½ tsp dried thyme or 1 tsp chopped fresh
Pinch black pepper
Pinch sea salt
4 whole cloves
2 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
2 pears, cored and sliced
1 tsp sugar
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp lemon zest
- Heat 1 tsp of the butter in the pan. Brown the pork chops in the butter for 5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through. Season the pork chops with the basil, thyme, pepper and salt. Remove the pork chops from the pan; keep them warm.
- Heat the remaining butter in the pan. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Cook on medium heat until the apples and pears are softened and lightly browned.
- Pour the warm apple and pear mixture over the pork chops. Serve immediately.
