BANGKOK, THE GRAND PALACE

In this video, Robert hands over his camera to Nelson Tome, host of OUTtv who has joined the trip to capture footage throughout Thaialnd, but wasn't permitted to bring full camera equipment into the palace.

The OUT Adventures gay group takes a river boat down the Chao Phraya River and experiences the must-see Grand Palace, the official residence of the Kings of Thailand from the 18th century through to the 20th century when most kings preferred to live in other palaces.  Although not a gay tourist attraction, you cannot visit Bangkok without seeing the outstanding architecture... often buildings are covered in small coloured mirror tiles which glisten in the sun, kind of like giant disco balls!  As the Thai people would say, "same same but different".
