My Gay Toronto - Out Adventures


Robert Sharp is Co-Founder of Toronto-based OUT Adventures, a tour company that specializes in Gay & Lesbian tours around the globe.  From Peru to Thailand and everywhere in between, OUT offers trips for all travelers with a thirst for culture.  You can leave it to Robert and his partner Steven to know where the hot destinations can be found - they have travelled to all 7 continents!  Follow their adventures right here on MyGayToronto every month.

Arriving in Bangkok -

Most travellers have no idea how large Bangkok is; officially, this Asian hub has over 8 million residents, but due to unregistered migrants the population of Greater Bangkok is estimated at over 15 million.  The newly-built Suvarnabhumi Airport opened in 2006 after years of planning and boasts the world’s highest control tower (132.2 m) and third-largest single-building airport terminal (563,000 sq m).  Welcome to Bangkok!

Bangkok, Temple of Dawn - Join me and the OUT Adventures group as we cruise the Chao Phraya River on the Express Boat - a bit like taking a public bus on the river... very cool!  We visit Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn, where you can climb to the top for a stunning view of this massive city.  We then dine like locals on the riverbank and prepare for the rest of our journey.
