While it may seem like winter will never end, Spring is right around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about projects you might want to tackle in and outside the home!
Spring really is a great time for Spring cleaning. It’s a great opportunity to organize and spruce up your digs. Change any winter décor to more light and fresh colours and fabrics. Consider what has lived its life and retire it to a salvage company or secondhand store: no point in storing something for the summer if you won’t be using it next year!
Clean up any outdoor furniture and perhaps consider new all-weather cushions and fabrics for an updated look. Before the season gets too late you may want to evaluate the state of your balcony or deck. When the weather is right, stain any worn wood or paint and reseal any concrete to keep it looking in top shape. Not only are these steps aesthetically pleasing but this also helps protect your materials and will help keep them strong for years to come. Start looking at the home improvement stores for early sales on spring and summer items like planters, soils, mulches, and décor. Last but not least, check the state of your grille and barbecue. It is really important to make sure all parts work safely and remove as much excess grease as possible. Having experienced a grille fire myself, it is always smart to check your outdoor cooking equipment. If you think it is time to get rid of your barbeque, be safe and get a new one!
Now you are ready to look forward to Spring and forget these last few weeks of winter!
