1st Annual Kinky Jesus Competition judge Jeremy Feist reveals all

1st Annual Kinky Jesus Competition judge Jeremy Feist reveals all

For most Easter means chocolate, bunnies and the arrival of spring. For some it means a rare trip to church. For the leather community, Easter is traditionally a weekend of fellowship, frolic and pageantry. For 2016, Easter means the 1st Annual Kinky Jesus Competition in which

Ten contestants, three judges and a slew of naughty gender-bending nuns will battle it out to decide who will represent Toronto and be our savior from the evils of vanilla sex.

The Kinky Jesus Competition is based, with a twist, on San Francisco's wildly popular and sacrilegious Hunky Jesus Contest from which these photos have been taken. The competition is part of the Central Canada Drummer Weekend 2016 and, fittingly, takes place on Good Friday. The contestants will be judged on "Formal Messiah Wear," "Kink Wear" and, of course, "Blessed Basket" which as the Sisters explain:

Is based on the Swimsuit or Minimal Wear in other competitions/pageants. The focus is on your very own Easter Basket. That can be literal or figurative. Maybe that means starting with a jockstrap and sneakers, or maybe briefs and boots. Maybe Peter Cottontail left a few large eggs in there so you are overstuffed. Again this can be sexy or silly as you desire. Be creative and have fun with it.
Is nudity allowed?
Darling, it's encouraged!

When none of the sisters would agree to an interview or could even be found, I, in the hopes of getting more titillating details, contacted Jeremy Feist, Mr Leatherman 2016, who is one of the judges.

Drew Rowsome: What qualifies you to judge a Kinky Jesus Competition?

Jeremy Feist: A passing resemblance to Jesus Christ, if Jesus were a day-shift stripper.

How does the Kinky Jesus Competition differ from San Francisco’s highly successful if controversial Hunky Jesus Contest?

Honestly, I don't really know! I've never been to the Hunky Jesus Contest, so I'm just going to speak for Kinky Jesus on this one. We're specifically looking for examples of kink and fetish, however our contestants interpret it.

What qualities will you be looking for in the winning contestant?

I will always go with whoever looks like they're having the most fun. Personally, I feel like this is about doing what you love and having a good time. If they're living for it, I'll reward them accordingly.

What do you think of the other two judges: Master Tony Palazzo and Daddy Randy?

I love them both! The two of them completely represent what I think a Leatherman is. I think Tony will be the scary judge, Randy will be the nicer one, and I'll just be asking the contestants what kind of tree they'd be.

The Toronto Sisters can be as elusive as Maria on the Alps fleeing the Nazis, what are they actually like? What are they like to work with?

They're absolutely fantastic. Hilarious, irreverent, and charitable, which ticks off all the boxes for me. The Sisters, internationally and locally, do so much work for the community, so getting to work with them in this facet is an absolute dream.

The Passion of the Christ is basically a BDSM porn that's just missing the cumshot. Are Catholicism and the leather lifestyle so similar? Would Mel Gibson be a good choice as a judge?

Okay, no jokes on this one: I went to a very uptight Catholic school in Montreal (I won't say which specifically. It rhymes with Crayola if that helps.) and one of the things they did in English class was if you finished early, you read the Bible. And it turns out, there's a ton of sex and violence in the Bible. There was this one story I kept returning to involving God deciding to kill Moses because he wasn't circumcised, so his wife Zipporah grabs a knife and circumcises their son, and . . . I don't know. As a teenager, there's a lot in there to unpack, but I think stumbling upon that at a young age may explain some of my hobbies.

As Mr Leatherman 2016 so you have any official duties at Central Canada Drummer Fetish Weekend 2016?

Not really! I'll definitely be down supporting the outgoing CCD team, as well as the event and organizers. They're like the cool cousins you only see at Christmas and weddings, and I'm incredibly excited to take part in the weekend.

What events, other than The 1st Annual Kinky Jesus Competition, are you looking forward to attending at Central Canada Drummer Fetish Weekend 2016?

I actually have the entire weekend off (thanks Easter Bunny!) so I'm gonna try and do everything. I'm definitely going to try and hit up the last Rough House of the year as well as the actual contest itself. And the Victory Brunch! I love me some pancakes.
